Hybrid Halloween Tags

If you’re hopping with the Make It Monday Blog Hop, WELCOME!  You probably came from seeing, Connie‘s sparkly Halloween tags.  Read through for the other blogs in today’s hop.

Several times a year, one of my online groups does tag swaps.  The Halloween one is a favorite.  We make and mail three tags and will receive three in return.  It’s always fun to see the different styles!  At first, I thought I would create digi tags.  I was inspired by two headlines that I’ve seen in blogs and on Pinterest:

Bring on the BOOs

Happy OWL-loween

To get started, I opened an 8 ½ x 11 project that I have just for these kinds of activities.  Here’s a screenshot of what I created.

I basically looked at whatever digi-supplies I had in a Halloween Theme.  I chose to use a variety of products rather than ones from the same designer or kit.  Once I layered each tag, I grouped everything together and saved each tag separately as a jpg.  I ordered 4×6 prints from my local CVS because my printer didn’t like the all black background and the quality was too poor for my  liking.  I fussy cut the tags and felt like they needed more.

I also wanted more crafty time this week so I pulled out my Gelli Plate and made a few prints on carboard and embossed paper (all scraps).  I also wanted to play with my new Tim Holz Shattered stencil and fabric paste.  Although they ended up under the tags, I loved the effect!

I added some bling and now I have to decide which one to send…. Shucks – I’m sending both!  Happy Halloween!
