Where are you memories now? Memories are worth preserving. However there are problems. If not in the cloud, they’re not preserved. BUT, other cloud services are temporary, incomplete and not private. Large competitors offer temporary storage and claim right to use your content.
In addition to the above, Apple iCloud’s Terms of Service (as of 2/26/2020) also state it’s your responsibility to back up your data. “… Apple does not guarantee or warrant that any content you store or access through the Service will not be subject to inadvertent damage, corruption, loss or removal …. …. Apple shall not be responsible should such damage, corruption, loss or removal occur. It is your responsibility to maintain appropriate alternative backup of your information and data.”
Google provides temporary storage and data mines everything. “When you upload, submit, store, send or receive content to or through Google Drive, you give Google a worldwide license to use, host, store, reproduce, modify… communicate, publish, publicly perform, publicly display and distribute such content.” “Our automated systems analyze your content (including emails)… This analysis occurs as the content is sent, received, and when it is stored.”
It’s time to take back your control. Keep ownership of all your right to your content. Control how your content is preserved during your life and beyond. Enjoy data migration to new file formats over time at no extra cost.
Own your own piece of the cloud for your family’s memories and know that they will be safe and secure for generations.
