Font Lovers Unite!

Fonts are so fun and a great way to enhance our scrapbooking layouts.  I’m often asked about fonts and where to find them.   Here’s some of my go-to places.

  • What the Font!  Have you ever wondered what a specific font is?  This is a great tool that helps to identify fonts from an image that you upload.
  • Best Fonts!  There are tons a great places to find fonts.  Once you know the name of what you’re looking for, just search for that and see what comes up.  Here are the websites that I trust and use:
    • DaFont
    • The Hungry jpg – lots of freebies here and often with both personal and commercial use licenses.
    • Font Bundles – another site with lots of freebies!
    • Kimberly Geswein makes fonts and has great resourses on her website.  You can also download all her free fonts in a single download from here.
  • I also have made my handwriting into a font using Your Fonts.
  • I recently learned about iFontMaker for making your own fonts.  It’s only available for Apple or Windows systems.

Forever adds Collaboration

Last week, Forever launched a great new feature for Storage Account Owners.  Collaborate Sharing.  Here’s the announcement:

I’ve played around with this feature and am really loving it.  I’m looking forward to using it next time I travel with friends or family.  Here are the basics on how to get started:

  1. Login to your forever account
  2. Create an Album (or open an existing album)
  3. Click Share at the top of the screen.  
  4. Select if you wish to Collaborate.  Make note of the information at the bottom.
  5. Copy Link and share.

Happy Earth Day!

Today is Earth Day and I’m spending it at our new mountain house doing a bunch of yard work.  As I mentioned last month, the Tree of Life at Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom is one of my favorite parts of that park.

However now that Pandora is open at the same park it’s even more interesting and fun!   Avatar is one of our favorite movies and the environmental theme is really thought provoking.  I’m so glad that Disney Parks is taking that theme to heart and has so many initiatives to promote conservation, including some great solar initiatives!  Click here to read all about those.

Layout a Day: LOAD218

It’s almost time for another month of layouts!  I’m truly looking forward to LOAD218-Choose Your Own Scrapbook Adventure.   From what I can tell, we’re going to be able to choose from a variety of prompts each day.  I love having choices so this sounds really right up my alley!

I’m currently getting organized using Historian.  I’m loading my pictures from the past several months as well as tagging them and giving them star ratings.  I find this helps me stay on track during LOAD and allows me to focus more time on scrapbooking.
